Clayton Rogers

Bachelor Sci (Psych) 2003
PG Dip (Psych) 2005

Clayton studied Psychology at Macquarie University in Sydney and then completed an internship with Upper Hunter Youth Services in 2007 for two years to complete his registration requirements. He was very fortunate to have this role and received much training and clinical supervision during those initial years. This work was very challenging helping families with children at risk of homelessness, with often complex psychological conditions and family systems experiencing significant hardship and stress.

Clayton has been working fulltime in private practice since 2009 and sees children from approximately 14 years of age, adolescents, and adults. He primarily works with people one on one, though at times family or couple sessions are important also. He is very respectful to people of any gender, identity, culture, or belief systems.

He is trained and well experienced in assessing and treating many mental health disorders. This includes mood disorders, all types of anxiety disorders, insomnia, workplace stress, complex trauma from severe abuse/neglect, PTSD, anger problems, substance abuse, addictions (including video games, social media, gambling, etc), relationship difficulties, and personality disorders. He also works with parents to assist with behaviour management and psychoeducation for children/adolescents with associated difficulties.

Clayton is trained in several modalities of treatment (listed below) and is eclectic in their use depending on the client’s symptomology, capacities, and reasons for treatment. He follows a respectful client centred approach and works with people on a very individual basis.
